Sun Jan 13 19:53:22 CET 2013 Timsen

On Jan 11, 2013, the "Methania" was involved in the rescue of two British sailors whose boat sank on off the Pointe du Raz. At 7:36 p.m. the CROSS Corsen was triggering a beacon signal 75 miles west of the Pointe du Raz. The CROSS Corsen dispatched a Cayman helicopter of the Navy with a medical team of the Army Health Service on board. At 8:20, p.m. the "SCI Chennai" relayed the call to the Panama-flagged tug "Christos 23", which got radio contact to two British sailors on board the sailboat "Kajmana" which were experiencing electrical Problems. At 8:54 p.m. the "Methania" reported having seen two red flares near the search Zone and headed in this direction. At 9:15 p.m., the helicopter localized the shipwrecked crfew in their liferaft. At 9:20 p.m., the two men were hoisted aboard with mild hypothermia. The "Kajmana" had completely sunk for an unknown reason. At 10.20 p.m., the helicopter landed on the naval aviation base Lanvéoc from where the two men were taken to hospital for medical examination.
