Refloated and berthed in Nakhodka

General cargo vessel Melody arrived to Nakhodka port, Russia, Japan sea, and was berthed, on Dec 26 12. Vessel ran aground on Sakhalin island coast and was refloated, arriving to Nakhodka either under own power or under tow. See previous news: http://www.odin.tc/news/read.asp?articleID=1617

Still aground, Sakhalin

Freighter Melody is still aground on Sakhalin Island coast in Tatarskiy Strait. Salvage tug Atlas arrived to a distressed vessel on Dec 8 2012, during the day Dec 9 there were several attempts to refloat vessel, but to no avail, vessel is still aground. Salvors will try to refloat vessel on Dec 10 with high tide. There is no immediate danger to Melody or the crew, vessel is stuck on a sandy shoal with no damages to hull. Aground in Tatarskiy Strait, Sakhalin

General cargo vessel Melody at around 0330 Moscow time Dec 7 2012 ran aground on Sakhalin Island coast close to Krilyon Point, southernmost tip of Sakhalin, in Tatarskiy Strait. Vessel was en route from Vladivostok, Japan sea, to Korsakov, Sakhalin. Reportedly there are no breaches or holes, and no imminent danger either to vessel or to crew.
