Allision in Thira
The Port Authority of Thira was informed in the early morning of April 5, 2021, by the Master of the 'Melina II' that the bow had allided with the quay in the port of Athinios, due to strong waves. The ramp was thereupon detached at the front point. There were no injuries and no marine pollution from the incident. The ship had nine crew members and nine empty cargo vehicles on board. The Port Authority of Thira banned the ship from sailing until the damage was repaired and a class maintenance certificate presented by the attending classification society. The ship remained in port as of April 6.
Engine damage in storm
The "Melina II" suffered a mechanical damage off the island Rineia on Feb 10, 2015. The ship with a crew of seven but not passengers on board had been moored off the island, but due to strong winds the anchor chain broke, leading to a propeller damage and the shut off of one machine.
