Ferry towed to demolition
In the evening of June 28, 2020,, the last voyage of the 'Melderskin' from Sunde started under tow of the tug "Silex Master". The next morning, the ferry reached Hanøytangen on Askøy where the ship is to be dismantled. The scrap is to be recycled in Germany. Ferry service interrupted due to technical trouble
On Aug 22, 2019, at 6 a.m. the ferry service on the road 57 between Hordaland and Sogn and Fjordane was canceled. The "Melderskin" on the Leirvåg - Sløvåg route had encountered technical problems. A cruise boat was set up to cover the route for pedestrians. At 8 a.m. the problems were resolved, and the ferry returned to normal operation.
Ferry suffered rudder trouble
On July 5, 2019, at 06.50 a.m. when the "Melderskin" was due to sail from Sløvåg, an error occurred on the control mechanism. The rudder failed, and the ship hit the shore. No one was injured, and there were no major visible damages. Operator Norled sidelined the "Melderskin" and find out what has happened. A shuttle boat was inserted with a first departure from Leirvåg at 08.15 a.m.. The hope was to get the "Melderskin" back in operation around 3 p.m.
