Containers got wet

A number of containers on board the 'X-Press Brahmaputra', en route from Colombo, were found to be wet due to water ingress from a ballast tank during loading/unloading operations in New Mangalore Port on Sep 18, 2021. The 'X-Press Brahmaputra' had arrived at Berth No.3 on Sep 16 and shifted to Berth No. 6 for cargo operations on Sep 18, after which it was reported that the containers placed at lower row in Hold No.4 were found wet. Subsequently, all containers which were suspected to be wet were unloaded and placed in the Port container yard for further inspections and verifications. The 'X-Press Brahmaputra' completed the cargo operations and sailed to Angre on Sep 21.

Allision in New Mangalore Port

The "Xpress Brahmaputra" allided with with a bollard while leaving Jetty No 2 at the New Mangalore Port on Nov 3 , 2018, at 07.30 a.m. The ship suffered a hull breach of some meters length in the portside stern area. Also a fuel tank was damaged, and a disel spill occurred. Oil booms were laid out, and the spill could be contained with skimmers within four hours.
