Strong wind troubled cargo ship
Enroute from Hovland to Antwerp the "Amur-2357" got in trouble in the Søra Sound and sought refuge in Egersund on Dec 31, 2013, because of strong winds. The ship was assisted by the lifeboat "Peter Henry van Koss"" to get safely into Egersund after proceeding from Tingelsædet to Viberodden. The ship obviously had trouble navigating after having passed Skarvøy so the lifeboat showed how to navigate. While the pilot gave his instructions, the freighter had trouble getting back on course and drifted perpendicular for some time. Finally the ship managed to dock in Egersund. It was underway from St. Petersburg to Antwerp when the storm lead to the decision to head to Egersund. Norwegian report with photo: http://dalane-tidende.no/index.php?page=vis_nyhet&NyhetID=13724
