Bulkcarrier released after detention

The 'MBC Daisy' left the port of Birkenhead on Jan 14, 2020, bound to Ust-Luga with an ETA as of Jan 25. The ship had been detained in Birkenhead on Dec 10, 2019. Twelve deficiencies were reported, with six grounds for detention.

Sundaisy E refloated

On Dec 9 the "Sundaisy E", which ran aground in the afternoon of Dec 8 off Batiscan, was refloated around 10 p.m. Taking advantage of the high tide, two tugs were able to pull it off the shoal in the night hours. The ship continued to Montreal for an inspection. Investigators from the Office of Canada's Transportation Safety came Batiscan to launch an investigation into the cause the grounding. The "Sundaisy E", carrying cement, had been heading to Hamilton, Ontario. She berthed at Trois Rivières on Dec 10 short past midnight. Bulkcarrier grounded on St. Lawrence River

The Transportation Safety Board of Canada (TSB) on Dec 9 deployed a team of three investigators to Batiscan, Quebec, after the "Sundaisy E" ran aground on the St. Lawrence River. The bulkcarrier which was carrying a cargo of cement got stuck in the late morning of Dec 8, 2014, while heading to Hamilton, Ontario. The ship suffered a generator failure at 10.30 a.m. which resulted in a loss of engine power. The "Sundaisy E" went adrift until grounding at the height of Batiscan. On Dec 9 tugs should start a salvage attempt. In case of failure it may have to be lightered. attempt to alleviate some of unloading the goods.
