MATTANJA
On Aug 8, 2010, around 9 p.m. the KNRM station Egmond upon sea was alarmed after the "Mattanja - TH 106" reported water ingress near a wind park 20 miles off the coast. The rescue boat "Adriaan Hendrik" went to assist. The water ingress could meanwhile be stopped, but the machine had failed because a cooling water pump had broken. At 9.52 p.m. the boat was on scene jointly with the "Koos van Messel" of the KNRM station Ijmuiden. Some time later also the "Donateur" from Wijk upon sea arrived. An inspection showed that the cool water system was beyond repair so that the 22,2 m long vessel hat to be towed to Ijmuiiden. Nine passengers were taken aboard the "Koos van Messel" and the crew of 4 remained aboard the "Mattanja". After the transfer the "Donateur" and "Adriaan Hendrik" returned to their stations. The "Mattanja" was safely berthed at Amsterdam fishing harbour on Aug 9 at 5.20 a.m.
