Tanker seized for alleged collision

The "Kuthan" which allegedly rammed and sunk a yacht in the Mediterranean on Jul 21, 2012, was the subject of a seizure in Rouen after it had entered port on Oct 28. The ship was arrested on 29 at the request of the occupants of the boat. The Qatari shipping company, which manages the ship was able to obtain the lifting of the seizure by providing financial guarantees. The ship sailed for Ijmuiden on Oct 30. 000 euros. Sunday arrived in Rouen from Constanta (Romania), Dukhan was allowed to sail on Tuesday to Rotterdam (Netherlands), after completing its business operations. The accident occurred at night on July 21, while sailing Ar Gwen, 11 meters long, was cruising off the French coast of the Mediterranean. "I saw a dark shadow rise (...) we oncoming high speed," he told Paris to Normandy, Jean-Luc Jancel, one of the two occupants of the boat. According to him, the ship, which sailed "lights off", hit the boat with wooden mast exploded, taking part of the cabin. Occupants have launched an SOS and were rescued by a helicopter of the Navy before the boat sank. The two boaters, ensuring that the ship continued on as if nothing had happened, were heard by the police maritime and an investigation was opened by the prosecutor of Toulon
