SAR operation after ship sank

The General Directorate of the Merchant Navy (DGMM), in a joint operation with the authorities of Jamaica and the Bahamas, wass carrying out a rescue effort for four of the eight Honduran sailors who were aboard the 'Master Ru', which sank while it was sailing in international waters near the Bahamas on July 11, 2024. Three of the sailors have already been rescued, but the search for the rest of the sailors continued. Th shipbegan to sink while en route from the Bahamas to Jamaica. In immediate response, the DGMM contacted the Bahamas Operations Center and activated Search and Rescue (SAR) protocols in international waters. So far, Gabriel Jackson, Winser Samir Pounchie, Félix Pouchie and Marco Armando Guity have been identified as part of the crew aboard the 'Master Ru'.
