Fri Mar 04 13:03:05 CET 2022 Timsen

On March 3, 2022, the 'Marvel I' encountered mechanical issue and was disabled after passing under the Lions Gate Bridge, Vancouver, in the English Bay. The had ship left Vancouver loaded with grain and was bound for Longkou. The Coast Guard received a call from the bulk carrier at 11:50 a.m. about a mechanical issue onboard, just as the ship cleared the bridge. It quickly dropped anchor and came to rest west of Siwash Rock. It was slightly grounded on sandy bottom, pointing north-south. Four tugs helped the ship back out of its position near Stanley Park within two hours. It was then escorted to English Bay and moored on Vancouver Anchorage for inspections, where she remained stationary in pos. 49° 17.70' N 123° 15.22' W as of March 4. https://www.castanet.net/news/BC/361861/Cargo-ship-runs-aground-under-Lions-Gate-Bridge
