Allision in Puerto Cortes

Thu Aug 11 10:03:19 CEST 2016 Timsen

On Aug 8, 2016, at 7.15 p.m. the "E.R. Calais" allided with berth 5 of the container terminal while docking in Puerto Cortes upon its arrival from New Orleans. The pier suffered slight damages, vessel suffered a huge breach at the bow right above the bulbous nose. The master of the vessel was blamed for the collision, as he did not hand over the command of the ship to the pilot of the ENP, as mandated, but instead decided to make the docking maneuvers itself. On Aug 9 the vessel unmoored and was taken to an anchorage. Spanish report with phoPuerto Cortestos: http://tiempo.hn/manudo-capitan-nave-choca-muelle-la-opc/
