Passenger ship disabled in Rostock
On Nov 26, 2019, the 'Markgrafenheide' was disabled in the port of Rostock with 33 people aboard, among them 30 passengers on a port cruise. At 2.30 p.m. the captain issued a distres call after his ship had suffered an engine failure in the seaport and drifted in SW direction, being threatened to run aground. The DGzRS lifeboat 'Arkona' of the station in Warnemünde was launched immediately. Until its arrival the passenger m/v 'Warnostar' held the casualty in position. The lifeboat took it alongside and towed it back to its berth in the Old Warnow Stream in Warnemünde.
