Medevac off the Chausey Islands

On Aug 1, 2023, around 12:30 p.m., the CROSS Jobourg was alerted by the Roc semaphore in Granville, about a sick person on board the 'Marité' off the Chausey Islands and set up a conference call with the maritime medical coordination SAMU of Le Havre and the ship, where a doctor was present, in order to analyze the person's state of health more precisely. An evacuation by helicopter was recommended. An H160 helicopter of the Navy base in Maupertus, as well as the SNSM boat in Chausey were deployed. The H160 picked up a medical team from the armed forces health service in Querqueville before proceeding to the 'Marité' in the Beauchamps channel. The patient was first evacuated to a sandbank by the semi-rigid. When the helicopter arrived, she was winched aboard the aircraft and dropped off at the hospital in Granville.
