Grounding off Sarıçay
On June 17, 2013, at 4.35 p.m. the "Kazime Ana" enroute Izmit-Akcansa ran aground in the Canakkale Strait during the passage of the Dardanelles in north-south direction at Sarıçay. The Çanakkale VTS called the Turkish tug "Söndüren 7" (IMO: 7531656) to assist the casualty. Towed to Savona
Turkish general cargo vessel Kazime Ana suffered engine failure on Nov 29 2012 en route from Savona, Italy, to Foss, France, after offloading cargo of coal in Savona. The weather deteriorated, vessel asked for assistance after failing to fix the problem. In unfavourable weather conditions patrol boats of Italian Coast Guard and a tug managed to reach calmer waters and then turn to Savona, Kazime Ana was towed to Savona on Nov 30 in the morning, and was berthed at around 0830 UTC.
