Thu Oct 26 15:08:52 CEST 2017 arnekiel

Bulk carrier MARAKI K collided with heavy lift ship MARIA on Constanta outer anchorage at around 0300 UTC Oct 25, both ships understood to be under way at the time of collision, maneuvering to anchor. Reportedly both ships didn’t sustain serious damages, no leak occurred. MARIA was at anchor on Constanta Anchorage.

Maria causes a mess

Wed Aug 10 09:29:51 CEST 2016 Timsen

The "Maria" allided with the fishing trawler "Angela Arcella" that was carrying fish bait for fish farms capsized in Grand Harbour on Aug 9, 2016, at 12.10 p.m. at Laboratory Wharf. The heavy load carrier suffered a mechanical failure when it was about to berth and slammed into the starboard side of the Italian fish farming vessel, leading it to capsize. Two crew members of the "Angela Arcella" jumped into the sea and later were taken to hospital, although they were not seriously injured. Measures were being taken to prevent seawater contamination. The "Maria" also hit the moored Congo-registered cargo ship "Union" which then broke its moorings and hit the tug "Lieni", without causing damages.
