Engine failure in Istanbul Strait

The 'Margaret', en route from Galatz to Istanbul, suffered an engine failure in the Istanbul Strait at Anadolukavagi Point on Dec 1, 2019, at 08.30 a.m. A Coastal Safety tug attended in order to provide further assistance for the vessel and strait traffic safety. Subsequently, the 'Margaret' resumed the strait passage under supervision of the tug and a technical team. The vessel moored on Istanbul anchorage and was imposed a fine due to the breach of strait safe passage regulations. The ship remained moored in pos. 40° 59.18' N 028° 56.78' E as of Dec 2.
