Engine failure in Zakynthos
On Sep 11 at noon, the Port Authority of Zakynthos was informed by the Master of the 'Mare di Levante', that the starboard side main engine failed, while preparing for the main engine start operations. The ship had a scheduled route to the port of Kyllini with 263 passengers on board, who were forwarded to their destination by the care of the company with the 'KEfalonia'. The Port Authority of Zakynthos initially banned the ferry from sailing. Upon presentation of a a certificate about the repair of the damage by the monitoring classifcation, the prohibition was lifted.
Ferry lost anchor
On the morning of March 23, 2ß24, the Port Authority of Zakynthos was informed by the Master of the 'Mare di Levante', that during the departure manoever from the port of Zakynthos to the port of Kyllini and after the anchors had been lifted, the ferry lost the starboard anchor. The ship sailed safely to the port of Kyllini with 347 passengers on board. The Kyllini Port Authority initially prohibited the ship from sailing, while upon presentation of the certificate of class maintenance from the monitoring classification society, it was allowed to continue sailing and headed for the port of Poros in Kefallinia.
Engine trouble in Zakynthos
In the morning hours of Oct 21 the Port Authority of Zakynthos was informed by the Master of the ' Mare di Levante' about a mechanical damage to the port side main engine, during preparation of the main engine in the port of Zakynthos. The ship had a planned itinerary for the port of Kyllini, with 430 passengers on board. The Port Authority of Zakynthos prohibited the ship from sailing until the damage was repaired and a certificate of class maintenance was presented by the classifier monitoring it, while its passengers were forwarded to their destination on another ship, provided by the ship-owning company.
