Diana Shipping announces time charter contract for m/v Maia with Glencore
Diana Shipping Inc., a global shipping company specializing in the ownership of dry bulk vessels, through a separate wholly-owned subsidiary, has entered into a time charter contract with Glencore Agriculture B.V., Rotterdam, for one of its Kamsarmax dry bulk vessels, the m/v Maia. The gross charter rate is US$13,300 per day, minus a 5% commission paid to third parties, for a period until minimum January 1, 2020 up to maximum March 31, 2020. The charter commenced yesterday. The m/v Maia was chartered, as previously announced, at a gross charter rate of US$10,125 per day, minus a 5% commission paid to third parties. The “Maia” is a 82,193 dwt Kamsarmax dry bulk vessel built in 2009. This employment is anticipated to generate approximately US$5.44 million of gross revenue for the minimum scheduled period of the time charter.

On July 27, 2017, the Diana Shipping announced that it, through a wholly-owned subsidiary, has entered into a time charter contract with Glencore Agriculture B.V., Rotterdam, for the "Maia". Under the contract, the gross charter rate is $10,125 per day - minus a five percent commission paid to third parties - for a period of 12 to 15 months. The charter commenced on July 27. The vessel’s employment was expected to generate about $3.65 million of gross revenue for the minimum scheduled period of the time charter.
