MAGSENGER 19 9497311
The "Magsenger 19" was towed into the Hansa Port on Nov 17 at 3.50 a.m. The previous day the vessel had suffered an engine blackout while entering the port of Hamburg and first veered to port off the Airbus-Yards in Finkenwerder, next to starboard and was increasingly turned around by the flood current. One of the two tugs which had awaited the incoming ship in vain tried to push at the port side bow, while the other connected to the stern. The ship, however, was threatened to ran aground on the embankment of the Rüsch Canal. Finally it was stopped in an emergency anchoring manoever before the "Fairplay X", "ZP Bulldog", "Bugsier 9" and "Hunte" arrived to take the bulker in tow.
