Medevac off Aberdeen
Lifeboat crews in Aberdeen were sent to help a sick crew member aboard the "Maersk Laser" in the evening of April 5, 2019. With seven crew members on board, the all-weather boat "Bon Accord" sailed to the "Maersk Laser" just after 7 p.m. The offshore supply ship was around five miles south-east of Aberdeen. Once arriving at the scene, two RNLI casualty-care members boarded the vessel to assess the injured worker. The man was then brought back onto the lifeboat, in line with advice the boat’s coxswain received from the emergency department at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary. The lifeboat then returned to shore where an ambulance took the man to hospital.
