Maersk Drilling to Scrap Oldest Rig in Fleet in China
Maersk Drilling has decided to decommission its jack-up rig Maersk Endurer amid the current over-supply of drilling rigs in the offshore market. Maersk says that the rig will be transported to Zhoushan Changhong International Ship Recycling in China in mid-July 2015 and it will take approximately 15 weeks to recycle. Built in 1984, the Maersk Endurer is Maersk Drilling’s oldest rig in its fleet, and has lately been working offshore Cameroun.
