At least one million Dollars damage claimed in accident
Lawyers representing the 'Madeira' claimed at least one million Dollars in damages after the allision with the 'U Glory'. The lawyers claimed that the 'U Glory' reversed direction moments after the accident , struck two barges and left the scene without responding to protests from the master of the 'Madeira' which manoeuvred to the starboard side and continued to sail towards the pilot station. As of May 12 the ship was enroute to the Suez Canal, ETA May 17.
Allision off Kandla
The bulk carrier 'U Glory' (IMO: 9144029) allided with the moored 'Madeira' in pos. 22° 45.20' N 069° 56.18' E at the Kandla anchorage in Gujarat on April 28, 2021. The ship had left Kandla port at 11.20 a.m. enroute to Karachi and got out of control so that it struck the other ship with its port side, suffering some damage. The anchored ship didn’t suffer serious damages. The 'U Glory' dropped anchor in pos. 22° 46.21' N 069° 58.74' E after the incident. Both ships remained stationary at their moorings as of May 7.
