Storm wreaks havoc in Holyhead
Force 12 winds that battered Holyhead Marina, Anglesey, and have left the marina in bits on March 1/2, 2018. Among the boats berthed in the North Wales facility which were reported as damaged or lost were the "Lynas Point" and "Malltreath Bay". The Holyhead lifeboat was moved to the inner harbour for continuing service. All the yachts in the marina that were involved in winter racing have been reported sunk. Around 70 private vessels and 10 commercial boats are believed to have been affected. The half sunken "Lynas Point" was lifted out by cranefor structural examination on March 6, and it was found that the port side keel was punctured at the bow.
