Damaged tanker heading for Riga
The "Kraslava" was allowed to resume its voyage after an inspection by the relevant Danish authorities and headed for Riga where she arrived on Nov 4 and docked at Kugu Buvetava at 9 a.m., being assisted by the tugs "Orion" and "Castor". The tanker had suffered a breach and dents at the starboard bow a.o. The reefer "Atlantic Lady" lost a part of the living quarters on starboard side which was torn off by the "Kraslava" and remained anchored north of the Middelgrunds Fort near Cppenhagen until decisions were taken regarding the seaworthiness.
Collision in Øre Sound
In the afternoon of Nov 1, 2014, at 1.28 p.m. the "Kraslava" was in collision with the reefer "Atlantic Lady" in the Drogden Channel of the Øre Sound. Both ships suffered damage in the accident which happened east of Amager in pos. 55 32N 012 43E and were ordered to drop anchor for investigations. The Swedish Coast Guard dispatched the "KBV 034" which was off Malmö immediately to the scene. The "Atlantic Lady" proceeded to an anchorage to Copenhagen, the "Kraslava", which was in ballast, to the Køge Bay. The reefer’s superstructure was severely damaged, a number of cabins destroyed. The tanker suffered a gash at the starboard bow, the anchor seemed to be damaged too. While the "Atlantic Lady" had sailed from St. Petersburg on Oct 30 and bound to Bear Island, the "Kraslava" was headed from Santa Cruz to St. Petersburg.
