Barge aground on Wester Scheldt
On May 5, 2016, around midnight the "Stranger", 1817 ts (EU-No. :02323981), ran aground on the Hoofd Plate on the Wester Scheldt. The cause may have been a dragging anchor, so that she got stuck on a sand bar with the aft. The barge "Carla" was called to lighter cargo of the vessel. A boat of Rijkswaterstaat and a tug of Multraship were on scene, and with the hight tide at 1.45 p.m. they managed to pull the ship off. It could continue the voyage to Antwerp with own power then.
