Medevac off Comodoro Rivadavia

An 41-year-old crew member of the 'Lu AQuing Yuan Yu 280' was injured in an accident when the ship was sailing more than 500 kilometers from Comodoro Rivadavia. The victim was injured during a fishing maneuver that caused an open fracture in his arm, a cut in the wrist and a tear in the biceps. The captain of the ship contacted the Prefecture to carry out a medical radio consultation after which the Health Departmentindicated the need to transfer the man to a hospital. A helicopter took off from the Comodoro Rivadavia Air Station with rescuers and a doctor on board, along with a plane to provide support in the operation. Once the helicopter was positioned over the ship, the troops lowered a sanitary basket and hoisted the crew member. Once on board, the health professional performed the first assistance, while the arrival of an ambulance was coordinated.
