Lona ran aground off Gothenburg

Tue Sep 18 10:01:00 CEST 2012 Timsen

In the morning of Sep 17, 2012, the "Lona" ran aground while appraching a dock on Risholmen off Torslanda and Arendal. The vessel which was enroute from Copenhagen to Gothenburg was unloaded when getting stuck inside the large crude oil pier at the Tor Harbour. The wind was southwest and there was a gale warning. A tug could pull the vesseloff, and it was berthed at the quayside where it was investigated. An inspector of the Maritime Administration was sent to Risholmen to find out why the ship ran aground.
