Exhaust valve defect off Portland Bill

The "Lombok Strait", en route from Dover to Bridgetown with a crew of 24 on board, suffered defect in its exhaust valve no. 6 on June 23, 2019, at 12.30 a.m. in position 50 10 58 N, 002 43 37 W, about 35 miles southwest-west of Portland Bill, while transiting the Casquets TSS southwest bound lane. The repairs were completed at 4.30 a.m., and the vessel resumed the voyage to Barbados with an ETA as of July 2.

Pineapples from lost containers wash ashore

The Meal Sand Beach in Burra and Watsness, near Walls in Shetland was covered with pineapples started washing ashore 10 months after containers carrying the fruit were lost overboard from the "Lombok Strait" in the Atlantic while travelling from the Panama Canal to Dover, reported on Oct 22, 2017. Two 40ft containers with pineapples and bananas had been washed overboard in bad weather at 11.10 a.m. The vessel was heading for Dover. The duty counter-pollution and salvage officer was informed and the Receiver of Wreck was notified along with the various agencies whose waters the containers may have passed through.
