Waiting times due to ferry repair
To allow for maintenance works on the 'Loch Shira', serving on the route Largs-Cumbrae, the Ferry 'Loch Tarbert' was operate this route on March 20. Due to a reduced vehicle capacity, wait times might be increased. While the repairs were progressing, there was currently an approximately 30 min waiting tim for vehicles departing Largs aboard the 'Loch Tarbert'. After the successful completion of the works, the 'Loch Shira' finally resumed its service departing from Largs at 4:15 p.m., allowing the traffic queues to be cleared in the aftermath.
Ferry suffered burst pipe
The 'Loch Shira', serving on the route Largs-Cumbrae, suffered a burst pipe in the main engine on Jan 2, 2025. As a consequence, the scheduled departure from Cumbrae Slip at 10:00 was delayed and the departure frm Largs at 10:15 a.m. has been cancelle. CalMac started contacting all affected customers. After repairs were completed, the sailings resumed with the 10:45 a.m. departure from Largs.
Ferry return delayed due to lack of dock capacity
The 'Loch Shira' which had suffered a leak in its propulsion system and was withdrawn from service for repairs on Dec 12, was expected to return to service on Jan 31, 2022, following the completion of its drydocking schedule. Due to a lack of current dry dock capacity, repairs have been delayed and the vessel will remain off service until the end of January. The ferry 'Catriona' (IMO: 9759862) was continuing to operate the route until the 'Loch Shira' returns to service.
