USCG finds cocaine worth $27m hidden on cargo ship
The US Coast Guard (USCG) found 2,000 pounds of cocaine hidden on a cargo ship at dock in the Miami River on Wednesday. The illicit drugs were secreted in hidden compartments on the weather deck of the Lisanne (3,077 dwt, built 1983), which had arrived from Haiti with empty holds. The drugs would have a street value of around $27m. The crew are remaining in the US although no arrests have been made yet. They are likely to be deported and, going by similar precedent, the Lisanne will probably be sunk. The cocaine would have a street value in Miami of between $20,000 and $30,000 per kilo, or as much as $27 million in total. http://splash247.com/uscg-finds-cocaine-worth-27m-hidden-cargo-ship/
