Tananger aground again
The "Tananger" ran aground off Kråkerøy in Fredrikstad in the night of Sep 1, 2011. The cargo ship hit a navigation light on the seabed. The light was destroyed and is being removed as an obstruction. The ship suffered a dent in the hull, but was able to proceed with own power to Øra. In the late afternoon it moored in Frederikstad. No leakage and no pollution reported. The fire department checked the situation. Already in 2007 the ship had to be pulled from a rock in the middle of Bjoafjorden, a side fjord of the Halsnøy Lake and the Hardangerfjord.

On Nov 23, 2010, the "Tananger" suffered engine trouble at Laupsholmen north of Bodø. The rescue boat "Ruth Opsahl" was asked for assistance and towed the vessel to Bodø where it was safely moored at 2.50 p.m. and actually remains. The accident happened while the Nor Lines ferry "Cometa" is still under repair following its grounding.
