Medevac off Le Havre

Fri May 28 10:16:22 CEST 2021 Timsen

On May 27, 2021, the CROSS Jobourg was notified by the lookout of the port of Le Havre that a crew member of the 'Likya C' was injured as a result of a fall in a tank. The ship was anchored in the waiting area No 1 of Le Havre enroute from Dordrecht. The CROSS initiated a conference call with the maritime medical consultation center of Toulouse, the SAMU of Le Havre and the 'Likya C'. A medical evacuation of the sailor was recommended. The CROSS deployed a Caiman helicopter of the French Navy base in Maupertus, which was on a training flight, to carry out the evacuation. At 11:22 p.m., the injured crew member was dropped off at the Jacques Monod hospital in Le Havre where he was taken care of by medical teams.
