Medevac off Corpus Christi
The US Coast Guard medevaced a 64-year-old man from the 'Laurentia Desgagnes' near Corpus Christi on Aug 1, 2022. Coast Guard Sector Corpus Christi watchstanders received a call at approximately 1 p.m. from the captain of the tanker, requesting a medevac for a crew member reportedly experiencing low blood pressure and a high heart rate in the Corpus Christi Anchorage. Watchstanders consulted with the duty flight surgeon, who recommended a medevac as soon as possible. Watchstanders diverted a Coast Guard Air Station Corpus Christi MH-65 Dolphin helicopter aircrew to assist. The helicopter crew arrived on scene, safely hoisted the patient and transported him to CHRISTUS Spohn Hospital Corpus Christi in stable condition.
Engine trouble off Montreal
The "Laurentia Desgagnes" suffered a problem with the main engine's bridge control while berthed at section 106 of the Port of Montreal, Quebec, in position 45 38 35.4 N, 73 28 36.0 W, on July 21, 2019, at 9.10 p.m. The vessel was towed to the anchorage off Pointe-aux-Trembles, for repairs. It sailed from Montreal on July 22 at 10 a.m. and entered Quebec at 8.15 p.m.
Concordia Maritime and Neste Oil sell their jointly owned tanker Palva
Concordia Maritime and Finnish Neste Oil have reached an agreement on the sale of the jointly owned Ice Class 1A panamax tanker Palva. The buyer is Transport Maritime St-Laurent Inc. and the tanker is expected to be delivered in April/May 2014, the company said in its press release.
