Hawk Explorer to be scrapped

Tue Nov 01 12:49:00 CET 2016 Timsen

The SeaBird Exploration is set to scrap the "Hawk Explorer" as it pares back the size of its fleet in line with market demand. The Oslo-listed seismic contractor in October agreed to acquire the vessel and related equipment in return for cancellation of all future lease payments and additional obligations under a previous charter agreement. The cancellation of the charter and sale of the vessel for decommissioning will result in a net pre-tax loss of $8.9 million in the third quarter.

SeaBird Exploration acquires seismic vessel

Thu Sep 01 10:59:10 CEST 2016 arnekiel

Norway’s SeaBird Exploration has entered into a contract for the acquisition of research vessel Hawk Explorer and its seismic equipment. The vessel has been chartered into the SeaBird fleet since 2006. Under the contract, SeaBird will pay $1.1m for the vessel and seismic equipment, releasing the company from all future lease payments and additional obligations as required under the charter agreement. SeaBird is provider of marine acquisition for 2D/3D and 4D seismic data, and associated products and services to the oil and gas industry. http://splash247.com/seabird-exploration-acquires-seismic-vessel/

SeaBird extends its charter of research vessel

Tue Mar 08 09:37:06 CET 2016 arnekiel

SeaBird Exploration has extended its contract on the research and survey vessel Hawk Explorer by a further nine months until February 28, 2017. The lease will be extended on its current payment terms from May 31 and the Limassol-headquartered company will have the option to purchase the ship for $1.75m after the lease period has ended. Seabird, which is listed publically on the Oslo Børs, has the option to terminate the lease extension on August 31 or November 30 this year. Alternatively, the company says it may further extend the lease until November 30, 2017, after which it will have the option to purchase the vessel, plus its related equipment for an additional $67,800. http://splash247.com/seabird-extends-charter-research-vessel/
