Ladoga 8 refloated
The "Ladoga 8" was pulled off by the two tugs "Herbert" which had been dispatched from Oskarshamn, and "SOkar", in the afternoon of Sep 22. The cargo ship then slowly proceeded back to Västervik with own power, where the ship was moored at 8.25 p.m., on its way having been monitored by the "KBV 304" of the Swedish Coastguard. Grounding off Västervik
On Sep 21, 2013, at 1.30 a.m. the "Ladoga 8" ran aground off Västervik. The ship had sailed from Västervik one hour before being bound to Wismar being loaded with timber. The Swedish Coast Guard has launched an environmental emergency response and was to check the hull with divers in order to find out whether it could be pulled off without the risk of oil leakage. The patrol boat "KBV 476" arrived from Oskarshamn in the early morning. At 11.30 a.m. a surveillance flight found no signs of an oil pollution. The Coast Guard vessel "KBV 003" was heading towards the grounding site. Swedish report with photo: http://www.kustbevakningen.se/sv/hallbar-havsmiljo/nyhetsarkiv/grundstotning-utanfor-vastervik/
