Pirate attack foiled
The "La Mancha Knutsen" was attacked by pirates on March 10, 2017, at 0615 a.m. in the Gulf of Guinea in position 03 03N 006 57E, 90 miles south of Port Harcourt. A boat with armed people approached the tankerand fired upon her, in an attempt to stop and board the vessel. The tanker activated its security alert system, increased speed and began evasive manoevers. The pirates aborted the attack. No injures, no damages were reported. The tanker didn’t have armed security team on board. After the attack the tanker sailed to Bonny and later that day was berthed in port.
New Knutsen LNG Tanker Capable of Delivering $1 Million Annual Bunker Savings
Hyundai Heavy Industries Co., Ltd. (HHI) Monday announced it has delivered a newbuild liquefied natural gas (LNG) carrier, which it says is capable of delivering $1 million in annual bunker savings, to Knutsen OAS Shipping AS (Knutsen), LNG World Shipping reports.
