New Knutsen LNG Tanker Capable of Delivering $1 Million Annual Bunker Savings

Tue Sep 27 10:17:58 CEST 2016 arnekiel

Hyundai Heavy Industries Co., Ltd. (HHI) Monday announced it has delivered a newbuild liquefied natural gas (LNG) carrier, which it says is capable of delivering $1 million in annual bunker savings, to Knutsen OAS Shipping AS (Knutsen), LNG World Shipping reports. The 176,000 cubic metre (cbm) La Mancha Knutsen has a number of energy saving features, including a boil-off gas system that, in contrast to conventional systems that can only partially re-liquefy BOG, is said to be capable of re-liquefying 100 percent of the BOG for later use as fuel by the ship fuel. http://shipandbunker.com/news/world/322114-new-knutsen-lng-tanker-capable-of-delivering-1-million-annual-bunker-savings-hhi
