Tug stabilized at the quay in Fowey
On Apr 29 divers found the "Cormilan" has been holed on her starboard side close to her propulsion units. The tug suffered a 15cm long hole which was about five centimeters wide after the ship ran onto rocks. After the Fowey Harbour Commission-contracted divers arrived on scene efforts were being made to insert packing into the hole to reduce the pressure of water entering the hull to allow divers to inspect the damage from underwater. The situation remained stable, however, the vessel was sourrounded by anti-pollution booms, although no leakage has occurred. The harbour authorities alaunched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident. The Marine Accident Investigation Branch has also been informed of the grounding.
