Ferry sidelined due to engine trouble
In the morning of June 18, 2017, the "Prostvik 1" suffered a failure in one of the engines which stopped ferry traffic between Nagu and Korpo at 10 a.m. One hour later the spare ferry "Nagu 2", 225 gt (IMO: 8634546), was inserted and served the route since while a technician was called to Nagu where the "Prostvik 1" was sidelined to rectifie the engine trouble. At 2.30 p.m. it was anounced that a test cable had broken on the ferry and had yet to be fixed. At 5.20 p.m. new errors that were not expected had occurred. The technician was on site and spare parts were also available, but it was unclear when the ferry would be repaired.
Engine trouble stopped ferry
The "Prostvik 1" had to be replaced by the smaller "Nagu 2" after a technical fault disabled the ferry on Nov 1, 2014. The traffic between Nagu and Korpo was interrupted for over four hours. The engine error could now be fixed, but due to general maintenance the ship will sail again only in December.
