Allision in Milos
On the early morning hours of Nov 27, the Port Authority of Milos was informed that the 'Kydon Palace', while executing its scheduled route Heraklion - Milos - Piraeus with 465 passengers on board, had allided with the pier in the port of Milos during its berthing manoever. The ship suffered scrapes and scatches at the stern. No injuries were reported from the incident and no marine pollution was caused. The ship continued its route to the port of Piraeus, where it arrived safely. The 1st Tzelepi Port Department of the Central Port Authority of Piraeus banned the ferry from sailing until a certificate of seaworthiness was presented by the monitoring classification society.
Ferry skipped port due to unsafe conditions
On the morning of Nov 21, the Port Authority of Milos was informed by the master of the passenger f'Kydon Palace',which was performing its scheduled route from the port of Heraklion to the ports of Milos and Piraeus, that its approach to the port was considered unsafe due to the adverse weather conditions prevailing. The ship continued its route to the port of Piraeus. At the port of Milos, 44 passengers were waiting to board, four vehicles, a truck and two two-wheelers, while one passenger was about to disembark. The passengers were forwarded to their destination by the care of the ship-owning company.
Assistant injured on board
The Port Authority of Igoumenitsa was informed in the morning of Sep 16, 2023, that a 19-year-old assistant of the 'Kydon Palace', had suffered an injury inside the ship to the left hand while trying to hold a deck door. In the morning of Sep 17, when the was berthed lying in the port of Igoumenitsa, the sailor went to the Igoumenitsa Health Center and then to the Filiaton Hospital for medical treatment. A preliminary investigation was carried out by the Central Port Authority of Igoumenitsa.
