Ferry suffered damaged hydraulic pump
The "Kragerø" encountered techincal technical problems on Aug 6, 2017, and had to be sidelined for repairs in Kragerø. The ferry company inserted the reserve ferry "Naus" as a replacement. As she had less capacity, cars were left behind upon the departure from Jomfruland at 10.50 a.m. and picked up only a few hours later. A mechanic was sent to repair the "Kragerø". It turned that she would return to service most likely not before the end of next week, as a hydraulic pump was found to be damaged and had to be repaired. The "Naus" and "Jesper" maintained the Kragerø-service meanwhile.
Grounding in Skåtøy Sound
In the morning of Aug 22, 2016, the "Kragerø" with three school classes on board ran aground in the Skåtøy Sound enroute to Jomfruland. The accident happened due to a technical failure. After the ship refloated, it was able to continue to its destination where divers were sent down to survey the hull but only a scratch at the keel was found. The ship returned to operation after having been released by Veritas.
Ferry suffered water ingress in grounding
The "Kragerø" with 11 passengers, three cars and a crew of three on board ran aground at Schweigaardsholmen on Dec 23, 2012. No on was hurt, but the ferry took in water. The vessel reached Jomfruland with own power and headed back to Kragerø for inspection of the damage on Dec 24. The police has been in contact with the captain after the grounding. It must have been very poor visibility when the ship ran aground. The extent of the damage was not yet known.
