On May 9, 2010, at 11.10 p.m. the police launch "WS 1" stopped the "Liv Kristin off Brunsbüttel at buoy 58. The ship on its way from Rotterdam to Fredericia could not be contacted by the traffic control Brunsbüttel via VHF and was about to cross the Elbe traffic lane without permission. The "WS 1" put a pilot on board the vessel who berthed the ship at the old southern lock of the Kiel Canal at Brunsbuettel where the Russian captain was drug tested after police boarded the vessel there. He was found to be drunk with 2,59 promille. The ship was detained until he was able to guide the ship again which was the case only in the evening of June 10. On June 11 at 2.18 a.m. the vessel reached the Kiel Canal locks at Holtenau.
