Ferry broke down off Sinabang
The KMP 'Teluk Sinabang' broke down in the middle of the sea in the morning of July 16, 2023. The ship returned to Sinabang, and the passengers were transferred onto the KMP 'Aceh Hebat 1', but have been stuck and drifting aboard this ship for several hours because the ferry could not dock at Bubon Harbour due to shallow water. It had arrived in Bubon at around3 p.m. WIB, but had to anchor about 200 meters from the port. Only at 4.30 p.m. it started to move towards the Bubon Meulaboh Port. The passengers were hungry because they had no provisions while they had been on board for more than 24 hours.
Allision in Llokhubon
The 'Teluk Sinabang' suffered a damage to the starboard side anchor winch on Aug 31, 2020, in an allision with the dock in Lhokbubon Port, Meulaboh, West Aceh. The schedule voyage from Lhokbubon to Simeulue Island, Simeulue Regency, with an ETA as of Sep 1 was thus cancelled. The repair was not carried out at the dock. Instead the ship anchored off the port for this purpose.
Wave damaged ramp
The 'Teluk Sinabang' was sidelined from Aug 6, 2020, until Aug 14, and did not serve the route to Sinabang, Meulaboh Cand Simeulue, West Aceh, because of a damage tof the roro ramp due to wave impact. The damage occurred when the ship was docked at the Meulaboh Ferry Terminal. Passengers destined to Sinabang, Simeulue Island, from West Aceh, can use the services of the 'Belt Nusantara 110' from the Meulaboh Port in the meantime.
