Ferry in danger of sinking
Japan's coastguard has rescued the Indonesian crew of the "Masagena" on Mar 26, 2012, about 11 kilometres off Yakushima island, 1000 kilometers south of Tokyo. The crew of the "Masagena" had put out a distress call earlier when the vessel started taking on water. The Coastguard dispatched a helicopter and a patrol boat and has rescued 10 of the 12 crew onboard. The remaining two, the captain and engineer, were working with the Coastguard onboard to try to stop the ferry from drifting. The ferry was being taken from Onomichi in Japan's Hiroshima prefecture to be used to carry passengers in Indonesia.
