Grounding off Bakauheni
The 'JWS', 6311 gt (IMO: 9854686) ran aground on July 8, 2018, at 4 p.m. off Bakauheni, Sumatra, in the Sunda Strait, while approaching the port. There was one truck and its driver on board. No injures, no leaks reported. It was now planned to transfer the vehicles from the grounded ferry to another vessel to lighten the vessel. Local authorities will then attempt to refloat the vessel by using tugs.
