Ferry evacuated after fire

Thu Jul 14 11:57:38 CEST 2022 Timsen

The 'Prince Soya' caught fire while docked at the Port of Pare Pare on June 13, 2022. The vessel was about to depart, when the fire, that started in the galley, spread to other parts of the ferry. The passengers on board escaped. The ship was banned from sailing for investigations. Initial reports suggested that a short circuit caused the fire in one of the crew's cabins.

Allision in Nusantara dock

Tue May 07 10:38:40 CEST 2019 Timsen

In Pelabuhan Nusantara, Parepare City in South Sulawesi the "Prince Soya" was in collision with the KM "Cattleya Express", which was docked at the quay. The "Prince Soya", coming from Cappa Ujung Port, Parepare City, was about to dock at Nusantara Port when she slammed into the other ship. Three mooring ropes of the "Cattelya Express" broke with a loud bang. Both ships were damaged. The "Prince Soya" suffered damage at the bow, the "Cattleya Express" at its starboard side stern. No injuries were reported in the incident. The accident was caused by a steering problem of the "Prince Soya" so that she could not be controlled while approaching the Nusantara dock.
