The ship had departed from Tawau Port on March 19 en route to the Tunon Taka Nunukan Port with 54 passengers on board. Preliminary findings indicated that the accident was caused by a failure in the ship’s forward-reverse throttle, leading to a malfunction in the vessel’s control system. This issue prevented the ship from maneuvering properly while approaching the dock, ultimately causing the allision with the Tunon Taka Nunukan Port facility.
