Ramp damage in Heraklion
In the evening of Jan 7, 2024, the Port Authority of Heraklion was informed by the Master of the 'Blue Galaxy' that the ferry had suffered a damage to the locking pin of the starboard side aft ramp ahead of the departure for the port of Piraeus. On board were 571 passengers and 82 crew members. The Central Port Authority initially prohibited the ship's departure, while after the damage was repaired and a seaworthiness certificate was presented by the classification society that monitors it, it was allowed to depart for the port of Piraeus.
Mechanical failure off Piraeus
The 'Blue Galaxy' with 506 passengers and 100 crew members on board suffered a mechanical failure on July 27, 2023, just outside the port of Piraeus, short time after it had departed to serve the route Samos-Kos-Rhodes. Due to the breakdown, the assistance of two tugs was requested, and it returned to Piraeus. Ferry lost anchor
In the morning pf June 22, 2023, the 'Blue Galaxy' lost the port side anchor during the process of retrieving it, before sailing from the Vathy port of Samos on the scheduled route from the port of Vathy to the port of Piraeus. The ship sailed to the port of Piraeus and disembarked its 263 passengers. The local Port Authority initially prohibited the sailing of the ferry. After the repair of the damage as well as the presentation of a class maintenance certificate and a seaworthiness certificate from the monitoring classification society, the ship was allowed to resume its operations.
