Hans recovered grounded fishing vessel
A fishing boat that was grounded in the afternoon of Nov 3, 2018, was salvaged by the "Hans" days later. Service vessels to salmon farmers assisted when the fishing boat was grounded in Laksefjord in the Lebesby municipality. There were two people aboard the vessel and there have been no reported injuries. The well-boats “Christine” used by the fish farmer Grieg Seafood first came for assistance. The two fisherman were flown by a Sea King helicopter to safety. The Finnsnes Dykk & Anleggsservice AS was contacted in the morning of Nov 4 by the insurance company, asking if they had any of company’s vessels nearby, which could assist. The nearest vessel was the "Hans" which set the course north around 3 p.m. and arrived at the casualty around lunch on Nov 5. A few hours later the crew had the casualty floating in the side of “Hans” in full control of the situation. The boat was then taken to a nearby dock, where repairs started on the engine and gear.
