Ensis adrift in the fog
On Nov 20,, 2011, the "Ensis - KG 8" suffered engine and rudder breakdown about 15 miles off Breskens near the Botkil-West buoy. The ship thus was unable to return to Neeltje-Jans and the captain called the Coastguard which sent the lifeboat "Zeemanshoop". This was underway 10 minutes later in dense fog with a visibility of only 100 metres. Half an hour later the scalloper was found and its captain advised to call tug assistance as there was no immediate danger. The "Multratug 9" was then called to pull the "Ensis" back to Neeltje-Jans.
